Highlights of the environmental and energy notices in the August 2 PA Bulletin--
-- DEP published notice in the August 2 PA Bulletin inviting comments on revised guidelines for ranking applications to the PA Infrastructure Investment Authority for federally-funded State Revolving Fund grants and loans removing environmental justice ranking points. The guidelines cover applications for drinking water, wastewater, non point source and stormwater projects. The change was requested by the PennVEST Board. Read more here.
-- DEP published notice in the August 2 PA Bulletin announcing it will hold an informal public conference [open house/hearing] August 20 to take comments on four permit applications for a new LCT Energy, LP Rustic Ridge II bituminous underground coal mine in Donegal and Mt. Grants
-- The State Conservation Commission published notice in the August 2 PA Bulletin announcing an extension of the deadline to apply for federally-funded grants to implement farm conservation practices through the Chesapeake Bay Most Effective Basins Program. The new deadline is September 30. Read more here.
Permits
-- Homer City Generation, LP - Lake Bruce Dam Removal: DEP invites comments on the removal of Lake Bruce Dam that was constructed as part of a coal cleaning process at this site and is no longer used. It is not constructed across a watercourse. This is part of the redevelopment of the Homer City site into an A.I. data center complex in Center Twp., Indiana County. (PA Bulletin,, page 5171)
