DEP Invites Comments On Water Quality Permits For Daylighting 5.33 Miles Of 4 Texas Eastern Natural Gas Pipelines To Allow For Longwall Coal Mining In Greene County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notices in the July 26 PA Bulletin inviting comments on Chapter 102, Chapter 105 and Section 401 Water Quality Certification applications for a Texas Eastern Transmission, LP project to daylight four pipelines for 5.33 miles to allow for underground longwall coal mining. The project known as the Longwall Mining Panel M1 Project will involve excavating and elevating two 30-inch and two 36-inch pipelines in Center and Richhill Townships, Greene County above a CONSOL coal mine.

The construction will involve impacts to Jacobs Run (High Quality), Whitethorn Run, floodways and temporary and permanent impacts to wetlands.

A 30-day public comment period has been opened.
