Sustainable Pittsburgh Hosts June 4 Webinar On Cultivating Community Green Spaces - A Practical Approach For Municipalities

On June 4, Sustainable Pittsburgh and the Sustainable Community Development Network of Southwestern PA will host a webinar on Cultivating Community Green Spaces - A Practical Approach For Municipalities from Noon to 1:15 p.m.

In any community, green spaces are essential for enhancing quality of life, improving health, fostering social cohesion, promoting economic development, and safeguarding the environment for present and future generations. 

Through sustainable conservation efforts, local governments can protect and expand green spaces that play a crucial role in creating sustainable, healthy, and vibrant communities.

Learn about actionable resources that can help local governments and other organizations reduce carbon emissions through sustainable green space management strategies, conservation, and preservation planning. 

Speakers will provide expert analysis of practices that support carbon reduction and social equity goals, including field-tested best management practices and advice for continuous conservation and preservation improvements.

The program will also feature an overview of Sustainable Pittsburgh’s Carbon Reduction Sprint, a fun and friendly competition for organizations to compete against peers in earning points for actions that advance carbon-emissions reduction.
