PA Land Trust Assn. Recognizes Bushkill Township, Northampton County With Local Govt. Conservation Leadership Award

The PA Land Trust Association has announced Bushkill Township is the recipient of the 2020 Local Government Conservation Leadership Award. This award honors counties and municipalities for their commitment to conservation. 
Bushkill Township joins 17 other local government entities in receiving this recognition since 2007.
Bushkill Township has provided leadership in advancing the conservation of natural resources through the development of the Open Space Program, which aims to preserve and protect natural spaces within the Township. 
Since its inception in 2007, the Open Space Program has allowed Bushkill Township to acquire approximately 700 acres and 35 conservation easements, protecting vital and scenic natural resources.
Molly K. Morrison, former president of Natural Lands in Chester County is this year’s winner of PALTA’s Lifetime Conservation Leadership Award.
The award presentations will take place during the 2020 PA Land Conservation Conference to be held in Gettysburg April 1-3.
