On March 13, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful announced it is suspending its annual litter cleanup program-- Pick Up Pennsylvania-- through the end of April due to concerns about the spread of the coronavirus.
The Pick Up Pennsylvania program will be rescheduled for May and June. If you have a registered event, please consider rescheduling.
More details concerning free cleanup supplies of bags, gloves and safety vests and free or reduced cost landfill space will be communicated as they become available.
Pick Up Pennsylvania is coordinated by Keep PA Beautiful and its partners the departments of Environmental Protection and Transportation and the PA Waste Industries Association.
During the 2019 cleanup event, 92,342 volunteers were instrumental in cleaning up over 6 million pounds of trash during 5,356 events held across the state. Groups, individuals and local governments participate in the annual initiative as a way to rally volunteers, reduce cleanup costs and be connected to a larger movement.
