The South Mountain Partnership network will hold a Watershed Workshop: Municipalities and Watershed Groups Working Together for Greater Impact on January 9 at the Stern Great Room of Dickinson College in Carlisle from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The Workshop is part of the South Mountain Partnership Speakers Water Workshop Series.
This is a free workshop for local municipalities and watershed organizations that want to better coordinate their efforts so that they can accomplish more together.
Agenda includes:
-- Watershed Implementation Plans (WIPs) – What Are They and Why Are They Important for Watershed and Community Health?
-- Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Plan Assistance
-- How to Be Good Partners—Two Case Studies
-- Directed attendee sharing time – Each attendee will have one minute to briefly discuss how they are partnering with their local watershed group/municipality on ONE project OR share 1-2 needs they would like their local watershed group/municipality to help fill in the future.
-- There will also be time for networking.
Next Workshop
The next workshop in the Water Workshop Series is on March 27 at the Trails and Trees Environmental Education Center in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County.
This is a PA Organization For Watersheds & Rivers Regional Water Workshop for watershed organizations, related regional alliances, local and state agency representatives, and interested individuals from throughout Southcentral Pennsylvania who want to learn about opportunities to advance water resource and watershed protection and how to build the capacity of their volunteers and organizations.
These workshops are funded in part by a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Funders Network, Chesapeake Bay Trust, National Fish and Wildlife Federation, US Environmental Protection Agency, and the Chesapeake Bay Program.
