PRC Hosts September Household Chemical Collection Event, Pop Up Glass Recycling Events In Allegheny, Washington Counties

The PA Resources Council will hold Household Chemical and a Pop Up Glass Recycling Events at 5 locations Allegheny and Washington counties in September.
Household Chemical Collection - Allegheny County
The Household Chemical Collection Event will be held September 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the South Park Wave Pool Parking lot.
The cost to safely dispose of materials at this collection is $3/gallon (a few exceptions apply), cash only.  Once collected and processed by the certified contractor, materials will be recycled, incinerated or safely disposed in special landfills.
Since launching household chemical collections in 2003, PRC and its partners have collected and safely disposed of more than 5 million pounds of chemicals from approximately 50,000 households in western Pennsylvania.
The 2019 household chemical collection campaign is a project of the Pennsylvania Resources Council in conjunction with Allegheny County Health Department, Allegheny County Parks Department, Beaver County Commissioners, Cambria County Solid Waste Authority, Fayette County Commissioners, Washington County Commissioners, Colcom Foundation, LANXESS, NOVA Chemicals, PA American Water, Department of Environmental Protection, UPMC, Concurrent Technologies Corporation, Washington Wild Things, Washington County Family Entertainment and NewsRadio 1020 KDKA
Pop Up Glass Recycling - Allegheny, Washington Counties
The Pop Up Glass Recycling Events will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.--
-- September 14: 2 Locations - O'Hara Township Municipal Lot, co-sponsored by Fox Chapel and O'Hara Township; and Edgeworth Elementary School, sponsored by Edgeworth Borough (Allegheny County);
-- September 21: Dormont Pool sponsored by the Borough of Dormont (Allegheny County); and
-- September 28-- South Strabane Administration Building, sponsored by South Strabane Township, Washington County.
All colors of glass bottles and jars will be accepted, but no window glass, no drinking glasses or stemware and no ceramics.
