DEP Sets Nov. 5 Hearing On Natural Soil Products Composting Permit Renewal, Modification For The Facility In Frailey Twp., Schuylkill County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the September 19 PA Bulletin announcing a November 5 hearing on the renewal and modification of the composting permit for the Natural Soil Products facility in Frailey Township, Schuylkill County. (PA Bulletin, page 6244)

The modification would add composting drying capacity using Pads 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The hearing will be held at the Tremont Borough Municipal Building, 139 Clay Street in Tremont from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Individuals wishing to testify at the hearing are requested to submit a written notice of intent to Maria Tavera Vilchis, Northeast Regional Coordinator, PADEP Office of Environmental Justice, re: Natural Soil Products Public Hearing, PA DEP, 4530 Bath Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18017, or by email at mtaveravil@pa.gov. 

Persons unable to attend the hearing may submit written statements/comments to the Department on or before November 5, 2026.

Comments should be submitted to DEP Northeast Regional Office Waste Management Program, 2 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
