DCNR Now Accepting Applications For Local Parks, Recreation, Conservation Project Grants

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is now accepting applications for its Community Conservation Partnerships Program Grants. The deadline for applications is April 11.
Local governments and recreation and conservation organizations are encouraged to apply for funding to assist with:
-- Planning, acquisition, and development of public parks;
-- Recreation areas;
-- Motorized and non-motorized trails;
-- River conservation and access;
-- Stream buffers; and
-- Conservation of open space.
Grants also support regional and statewide partnerships that build capacity to better develop and manage resources.
Funds will be awarded for applications that meet the priorities established in the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan.
Grants are funded through a variety of sources. The primary source of funding comes from the Keystone Fund, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Since 1993, more than 300 trail projects have been built and improved, more than 2,400 community park development projects have been completed, and 117,400 acres conserved through the Keystone Fund.
