Northeast Environmental Partners Awards Dinner Reservations Now Being Accepted

The Northeast Environmental Partners invite you to attend the 26th Annual Evening for Northeast Pennsylvania’s Environment on October 20 at the Woodlands Inn and Resort, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance includes the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Department of Environmental Protection, PA Environmental Council’s Northeast Office, PPL Corporation, Procter & Gamble Paper Products Company, and Wilkes University.
This year’s Keynote Speaker will be Terrence E. Sweeney, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of Biology at the University of Scranton and this year’s Emcee will be Larry Newman, Executive Director of the Diamond City Partnership.
Now in its 26th year, the regionally acclaimed Environmental Partnership Awards program pays tribute to those organizations and individuals of Northeastern Pennsylvania that have achieved environmental protection or conservation through partnering with others.
Recipients of the 2016 Environmental Partnership Awards, the 2016 Thomas P. Shelburne Environmental Leadership Award and the 2016 Emerging Environmental Leader Award will be honored.
This year’s Environmental Partnership Award winners are—
-- Buzzi Unicem USA Stockertown Plant of Northampton County
-- Lehman Sanctuary of Luzerne County
-- Richard Mitchell of Luzerne County
-- Tom Ogorzalek of Luzerne County
-- William Reichert of Schuylkill County
-- Tobyhanna Conservation Association of Monroe County
The recipient of the Emerging Environmental Leader Award is Margaret Capooci of Lackawanna County.
The recipient of the Thomas P. Shelburne Leadership Award is Don Miller of Monroe County.
