Penn State Extension 4-Part Pennsylvania Forest Webinar Series Starts Sept. 9 With Managing Unwanted Vegetation; Other Educational Opportunities

Penn State Extension and their partners for the four-part Pennsylvania Forest webinar series starting September 9 and ending January 13. 

This series covers a variety of topics, such as basic wood identification, geographic information systems in forestry, forest and wildlife management, water conservation, wood products, legacy planning, and more.

Private forest landowners, general interested public, and forestry professionals are all encouraged to register!

Each of the four webinars is held twice on the scheduled date-- Noon to 1:00 pm. And 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The series includes (click on link to register)--

-- September 9: Managing Unwanted Vegetation - Discover how to manage unwanted vegetation in forests, with a focus on planning, control methods, and maintaining healthy, productive woodlands.

-- October 14: Profiles of Great Forest Stewards - Learn from experienced forest stewards through video visits, Q&A, and peer discussions to enhance your woodland management and stewardship practices.

-- November 11: Fundamentals Of Oak Management - Explore the ecology of Mid-Atlantic mixed-oak forests, including regeneration challenges, site quality factors, and key traits of major oak species.

-- January 13: Forest Ecology 101 - Gain a deeper appreciation for the Pennsylvanian landscape by exploring the complex relationships between living and nonliving elements within forest ecosystems.
