Delaware County Conservation District, Partners Seeking Volunteers For Fall Tree Plantings

The
Delaware County Conservation District, the Darby Creek Valley Association and municipal partners are seeking volunteers for these tree plantings in October and November--

-- October 18/19 – Tree Planting at Ridley Township, Fredrick L. Mann Memorial Park (corner of Fourth Avenue and Kedron Avenue).

This planting will restore the streamside buffer, improve water quality, reduce erosion, and create valuable habitat for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Healthy buffers are essential for a thriving watershed—tree and shrub roots stabilize soil, their shade keeps streams cool for aquatic life, and their foliage provides food and shelter for native species.

-- November 8 – Tree Planting at Prospect Park Borough, Morton Homestead Historical Park (route 420)

Participants will plant trees and shrub sapling along the stream in the park.

Visit the Delaware County Conservation District website for more information on natural resource conservation.
