Penn State Extension Center for Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training To Hold 3 Multi-Day In-Person Ag Conservation Keystone Training Workshops In October

Penn State Extension’s
Center for Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training will hold three ‘Ag Conservation Keystone Training’ in-person workshops designed to equip conservation professionals with skills to identify on-farm resource concerns and implement conservation practices at three locations across Pennsylvania in October.

The workshops will be held October 7-9 at Penn State’s University Park campus, October 15-17 at Penn State Hazleton and October 28-30 at Penn State Beaver.

This course is intended for conservation district technicians, managers and other professionals in the field. It is a required first step in achieving the new agricultural conservation professional certification, a program in development from the center.

Participants can learn:

— Agricultural literacy topics important to conservation professionals.

— Resource concern identification on agricultural lands.

— Planning criteria for agricultural best management practices.

— Agricultural conservation practice function and implementation.

— In-field basics for agricultural conservation technical assistance.
