The training will be hosted at the Brodhead Creek Heritage Center located in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County.
For over 30 years, StreamWatch volunteers have been monitoring the streams and creeks throughout the Brodhead Watershed - playing a crucial role in safeguarding the health of our water.
BWA is looking for new volunteers to join the program which spans seven sub-watershed regions.
This training is also a good refresher course for veteran StreamWatchers.
The StreamWatch Program exemplifies the concept of citizen science, where members of the public actively contribute to data collection and monitoring projects, becoming advocates for water quality protection through their efforts.
By collecting data at various sites over time, volunteers can detect changes or pollution events early, allowing for timely intervention and mitigation efforts.
As the eyes and ears of our watershed, StreamWatchers are an invaluable resource to BWA and the community.
Consider joining this incredible team of dedicated volunteers!
