The following DEP notices were published in the December 30 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities. Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the December 30 PA Bulletin it has received the Final Report on remediation of soil and groundwater contamination for dozens of chemicals and contaminants at the Shell Petrochemical Plant in Potter and Center Townships, Beaver County. For the above applications, “A public hearing may be held in accordance with 25 Pa.Code § 127.429, if the Department, in its discretion, decides that such a hearing is warranted based on the information received.

If a public hearing is held, all persons who have properly filed a protest under 25 Pa. Code § 127.426 may appear and give testimony.

The applicant, the protestant, and other participants will be notified of the decision to hold a hearing (and the time, place and purpose of such hearing) by publication in the newspaper or by the Pennsylvania Bulletin, or by telephone, where the Department determines such notification by telephone is sufficient.”

-- Bluestone Pipeline Company of PA, LLC - Comfort Lake Compressor Station: DEP approved the renewal of a GP-5 Air Quality General Permit for the facility located in Harmony Township, Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, Page 8123)

-- Diversified Production, LLC - Eckhardt Compressor Station: DEP approved a name change on a G-5 Air Quality General Permit for the facility located in Middlecreek Twp., Somerset County. (PA Bulletin, Page 8123)
