PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices/Opportunities To Comment - March 25

The following DEP notices were published in the
March 25 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

Land Recycling/Brownfield Cleanups

-- 2022 Train Derailment Site - Harmar Twp., Allegheny County.  DEP received Notice Of Intent from the Norfolk Southern Railroad on the next phase of cleanup of areas impacted by the May 26, 2022 train derailment in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1721)

The derailment was caused by a truck unlawfully stopped on the mainline tracks in Harmar Township that resulted in 17 tank cars derailing and the release of petroleum distillates, diesel fuel, and polymer beads into Guys Run which flows into the Allegheny River in the vicinity of the derailment.  Read more here.

-- LOLA Energy Petroco LLC - Polaris Well Site: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with chloride, manganese, strontium, vanadium for the well site in Oakland Township, Butler County.   (PA Bulletin, page 1752)

-- EQT Corporation - Carpenter Well Pad: DEP received Final Report on remediation of soil contamination with aluminum, barium, boron, chloride, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium and zinc in Center Twp., Greene County.   (PA Bulletin, page 1752)

-- EQT Corporation - King Hippo Well Pad: DEP received Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with aluminum, barium, boron, chloride, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium and zinc in Richhill Twp., Greene County. (PA Bulletin, page 1753)

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC - Angie Well Pad 1: DEP received Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with drilling wastewater in Auburn Twp., Susquehanna County.   (PA Bulletin, page 1753)


Waste Permits

-- EQT CHAP LLC - Herminie North Centralized Water Facility: DEP approved General Permit WMGR123 for the facility in Sewickley Twp., Westmoreland County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1754)

-- EQT Production Company, LLC - Polecat Aboveground Storage Tank Facility: DEP approved General Permit WMGR123 for the facility in Whiteley Twp., Greene County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1754)


Air Quality Permits

-- Pioneer Crossing Energy LLC - Landfill Gas Facility: DEP invites comments on Title V Air Quality Permit for a landfill gas to energy facility in Exeter Township, Berks County.   (PA Bulletin, page 1724)

-- Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, LLC - Troy Compressor Station: DEP invites comments on significant modification of Title V Air Quality permit for the compressor station located in Troy Township, Bradford County.   (PA Bulletin, page 1725)

-- Sunbury Generation LP - Natural Gas Power Plant: DEP invites comments on a renewal of a State Only Air Quality Operating Permit for the facility in Shamokin Dam Borough, Snyder County.   (PA Bulletin, page 1725)

-- EQT ARO, LLC - Larry’s Creek Compressor Station: DEP approved Air Quality Plan Approval for the facility located in Cummings Twp., Lycoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1755)

-- Regency Marcellus Gas Gathering, LLC - Compressor Station: DEP approved Air Quality Plan Approval for the facility located in Lathrop Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 1755)

-- EPP Renewable Energy, LLC - Landfill Gas To Energy Plant: DEP approved Air Quality Plan Approval for the facility located in Cumru Twp., Berks County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1755)

-- American Refining Group: DEP approved extension of Air Quality Plan approval for the refinery located in Bradford, McKean County to August 28, 2023 (PA Bulletin, page 1755)

-- EQM Gathering Opco, LLC - Blue Moon Compressor Station: DEP approved Air Quality Plan Approval for the facility located in West Pike Run Twp., Washington County.  (PA Bulletin, page 1756)
