PRC’s 2022 “Zero Waste Non-Event” will eliminate waste typically generated by the dinner held for hundreds of people and instead focus on raising funds essential to supporting PRC’s operations and mission while recognizing supporters digitally.
Since 2009, along with its large-scale waste diversion, education, and watershed protection efforts, PRC has provided waste reduction techniques through its Zero Waste Pennsylvania program to various commercial businesses, institutions, residents, and special events across the state.
PRC services have been used by a wide demographic from individuals to Fortune 500 Companies and now PRC is utilizing its own waste reduction techniques for its Zero Waste Non-Event.
“We thought it was important we lead by example for our vision of a Pennsylvania where nothing is wasted. With that in mind, we chose to not hold a fundraising event, but instead we will recognize our sponsors multiple times online throughout October in significant and creative ways,” said Darren Spielman, executive director, Pennsylvania Resources Council. “Our supporters help us leverage our on-the-ground work and our technical expertise to grow our impact. We couldn’t accomplish what we do without them.”
