DCNR Conservation & Natural Resources Advisory Council Meets May 25 On Camp Site Reservation System, ATV Pilot, Next Gen Council, Other Updates

DCNR's
Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Council is scheduled to meet May 25 to hear updates on a variety of issues, including camping reservation system changes, the ATV Pilot Program, Next Gen Council and more.

Staff from the Bureau of Forestry will discuss upgrades to their camping reservation system for motorized camping sites.

Changes include adding these sites to the current DCNR online reservation system and charging a nominal fee to enable site management and future planning of camping areas for the bureau.

In addition, this new system allows the bureau to accept credit cards for the camping reservations as well as the bureau’s many permits such as firewood or ATV pilot permits. The updated format will provide state forest users with more efficient processing and real-time information on campsite facilities.

DCNR staff will also provide updates on the ATV Regional Trail Connector Pilot, DCNR’s new Next Gen Council, and plans for a stakeholder engagement process around Pennsylvania’s outdoor recreation sector this fall.
