Susquehanna River Basin Commission Reschedules Hearing To Dec. 2 On Proposed Fee Change To Encourage Use Of AMD Impacted Waters, SRBC/DEP Letter Of Understanding

The
Susquehanna River Basin Commission has rescheduled its virtual public hearing for December 2 on proposed water withdrawal projects, proposed fee change to encourage use of acid mine drainage impacted waters and a letter of understanding between SRBC and DEP. (formal notice)

The November 4 hearing on these issues was canceled due to technical difficulties.

The Commission will hold its regular business meeting on December 17 in-person and virtually at the Commission offices at 4423 North Front Street in Harrisburg.  (formal notice)

-- Policy To Encourage Withdrawal & Consumptive Use Of Acid Mine Drainage Impacted Waters and Treated Wastewater: This policy will offer fee and timing review incentives for applications associated with the withdrawal or consumptive use of impacted waters. Additionally, this policy will offer incentives to the growing number of projects looking to recycle and reuse wastewater for beneficial purposes.

-- Proposed Regulatory Program Fee Schedule

-- Letter of Understanding Between SRBC/DEP:  The goal of the letter is to agree to cooperate and coordinate review of water resource projects, coordinate the collection and exchange of water use data, avoid duplication of efforts, and assure overall management and protection of water resources in the Pennsylvania portion of the Susquehanna River Basin.
