South Mountain Partnership Spring Partnership Meeting May 14

South Mountain Partnership will hold its Spring Partnership Meeting virtually on May 14 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The agenda theme for the meeting is solar energy development.

The Partnership will facilitate a dialogue around the challenges of solar energy development and how it can be done in a way that supports our region’s unique sense of place and quality of life, does not inhibit future sustainable economic development, and stewards our farmland, historic places, and natural and recreation assets – goals that we think are shared by many residents, communities, businesses, and organizations.

Speakers will include--

-- Adams County Commissioners

-- Tyler Semder, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources

-- Thomas Murphy, Penn State University

-- Sara Nicholas, PA Association of Sustainable Agriculture

-- Doug Neidich, GreenWorks Development

-- Christopher Houck, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources

-- Katie Hess, South Mountain Partnership

The Spring and Fall Partnership meetings are a chance to:

-- Connect or reconnect with the Partnership, learning more about the initiative and on-going projects;

-- Build and strengthen a network amongst organizations working throughout the region;

-- Spark conversation and collaboration across political and sectorial boundaries;

-- Help partners understand opportunities to engage in the on-going work of the Partnership; and -- Allow partners to help define the direction of the Partnership.
