PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - September 5

The following notices were published in the
September 5 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- DEP published notice in the September 5 PA Bulletin inviting comments on the proposed Coterra Energy Brooks to Forwood 18.4 mile, 20-inch aboveground shale gas water pipeline in Springville, Lathrop and Lenox townships, Susquehanna County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5963Read more here.


-- DEP published notice in the September 5 PA Bulletin restarting the comment period on a Chapter 105 permit submitted by MarkWest Liberty Midstream & Resources, LLC for daylighting four natural gas pipelines to prevent damage from longwall coal mining in West Finley Township, Washington County. Land Recycling/Brownfield Cleanups

-- Laurel Pipe Line Co., LP: DEP disapproved a Final Report on remediation of groundwater contaminated with unleaded gasoline did not demonstrate attainment with Site-Specific Standards at a site located at 3398 Garnet Mine Road and 3221 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA,  Bethel Twp., Delaware County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5978)

-- EQT Corporation - Anthony Petraitis Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on the remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standards at a pad located in Washington Twp., Greene County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5978).


2026 Act 2 Oil & Gas Facility Pollution Cleanups

So far in 2026, DEP received or acted on 139 Act 2 Land Recycling notices related to oil and gas facility site cleanups. 


Air Quality Permits - Comments

-- Ontelaunee Power Operating Company, LLC - 728 MW Natural Gas Power Plant: DEP invites comments on the renewal of a Title V Air Quality Permit for the facility located in Ontelaunee Twp., Berks County. (PA Bulletin, page 5953)

-- Sunoco Midstream LLC - Dupont Petroleum Products Terminal: DEP invites comments on renewal of a State Only Air Quality Operating Permit for the facility located in Pittston Twp., Luzerne County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5953)
