Let’s Go 1-2-3 And Let’s Go Outdoors Offer Free 'Let’s Go Neighborhoods' Mobile Activities In Philadelphia On Water, Urban Wildlife, Pollinators, Forests

On March 17,
Let’s Go 1-2-3 and Let’s Go Outdoors announced, with generous support from the William Penn Foundation, they will offer free outdoor activities through our “Let’s Go Neighborhoods” mobile program.

Families will have opportunities to explore hands-on lessons on water, urban wildlife, pollinators and forests directly in their neighborhood.

The “Let’s Go Neighborhoods” mobile program will run through July 2025.

This past year, Let’s Go 1-2-3 and Let’s Go Outdoors hosted activities at community events including John Heinz Wildlife Refuge during their Philly Nature Fest, summer programs at Faith Assembly of God locations in Northeast Philadelphia, and Prescribe Outside at Cobb’s Creek Nature Playground in West Philadelphia.

Nasir, a dad from West Philadelphia brought his three children to an activity at  the Cobbs Creek Nature Playground.

He said, “This is really nice to have a program like this at the park. My kids and I learned and had fun doing the owl craft”.

Public parks and greenspaces are critical to the health and well-being of all Philadelphians.

Many children and adults living in low-income households and underrepresented communities face barriers to access including transportation and time in nature.

“Programs like “Let’s Go Neighborhoods” bring families closer to nature, strengthening connections to outdoor experiences directly in their neighborhood,” said Tarsha Scovens, Founder and President of Let’s Go Outdoors.

For more information about hosting a mobile van opportunity in your neighborhood go to PHILLY - Let's Go Neighborhoods Van Request or Let's Go 1-2-3 Let’s Go Neighborhoods webpage.

Preference will be given to neighborhoods in North/West Philly, but other neighborhoods will be considered, depending on scheduling.

Spaces are limited so please sign up by April 7, 2025.
