PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - March 29

The following notices were published in the
March 29 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

-- MarkWest Liberty Midstream & Resources, LLC - 4.5 Mile 20-Inch Natural Gas Gathering Pipeline: DEP invites comments on a Chapter 105 permit for a pipeline project to be developed within a 100-foot right-of-way impacing North Branch Robinson Run and property containing part of the Montour Trail, an eligible historic district, located in North Fayette Twp., Allegheny County and Robinson Twp., Washington County.  (PA Bulletin, page 2535)   Read more here.


-- Rover Pipeline - Rover-Bulger Compressor Station, Harmon Creek Meter Station Expansion: DEP invites comments on a Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the proposed project located in Smith Township, Washington County.  (PA Bulletin, page 2565)   Read more here.

-- Kratos Mining, LLC - Kratos Site 1A Cryptocurrency Facility Natural Gas-Fired Power Generation.  DEP invites comments on an Air Quality Plan Approval for 15 natural gas-fired  engines for a data center to be located in West Keating Township, Clinton County.  (PA Bulletin, page 2519Read more here.


-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the March 29 PA Bulletin the Executive Director gave his approval to or renewed 50 general water use permits in February for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Lycoming, Potter, Susquehanna and Tioga counties.  Read more here.

So far in 2025, SRBC issued or renewed 84 general water use permits for shale gas development.  In 2024, SRBC issued 310 shale gas drilling pad general permits for water use. Read more here.


-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the March 29 PA Bulletin it took action to approve water withdrawal requests, including six for shale gas development.  Read more here.

-- Repsol Oil & Gas USA, LLC - Morgan K Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Notice of Intent to remediate soil contaminated by production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Armenia Twp., Bradford County.  (PA Bulletin, page 2517)

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC - Ronmary Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated by production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Elkland Twp., Sullivan County.  (PA Bulletin, page 2554)

-- Coterra Energy, Inc. - K.Millard Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated by production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Jessup Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 2554)

-- EQT Corporation - Hambleton A Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater (aluminum, barium, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, zinc, and chloride) to meet the Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in West Bethlehem Twp., Washington County. -- Fenton Welding Transport LLC - Ramblin Rose Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with diesel fuel to meet the Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Tuscarora Twp., Bradford County.  (PA Bulletin, page 2555)

-- Beech Resources, LLC - Premier Well Site: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health and Background Standards at the well located in Lycoming Twp., Lycoming County.  (PA Bulletin, page 2556)

-- CNX Hunt Club - Valve Setting Site: DEP approved a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standards at a site located in Richhill Twp., Greene County. (PA Bulletin, page 2556)

-- Diversified Production, LLC - Kovalic 13 OG Well: DEP approved a Final Report on the remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater (aluminum, barium, boron chloride, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, zinc) at a well site located in Nicholson Twp., Fayette County.
