The prevalence of emerging contaminants like PFAS, PPCPs, and pesticides in drinking water is a growing concern. Despite serving millions, private wells receive limited attention.
This webinar will discuss findings from recent monitoring of 70 wells in Pennsylvania.
This study evaluated potential links between occurrence of CECs in drinking water from private wells and corresponding toxicological impacts.
By partnering with the Pennsylvania Master Well Owner Network (MWON), water samples were collected from 70 private wells across PA and analyzed for a suite of PFAS, PPCPs, and pesticides.
To assess the potential ecological and human-health impacts of the detected compounds a wide range of cell-based bioassays as well as exposure-activity ratio (EAR) and Toxicological Prioritization index (ToxPi) was used prioritizing CECs, sites, and hazard concerns in these water samples.
