DEP Invites Comments On Renewal Of Waste Transfer Permit For 5 Oil & Gas Wastewater Injection Wells Owned By Bear Lake Properties In Warren County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the May 25 PA Bulletin inviting comments on the renewal of the waste transfer facility permit for five oil and gas wastewater injection wells owned by Bear Lake Properties, LLC in Columbus Township, Warren County.  (

The five wells are permitted as US EPA Class II Underground Injection Saltwater Disposal Wells.

DEP’s Oil and Gas Program has also issued permits for these wells.  Read more here.

Oil and gas liquid wastes are transported to the facility, offloaded, filtered, and disposed into the injection wells.

DEP will be accepting comments for 60 days from publication of this notice.
