Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council Hosts Sept. 27 Field Day At The Bower Native Plant Landscape & Sculpture Park In Perry County

The
Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council hosts an exclusive tour of The Bower Native Plant Landscape and Sculpture Park in Perry County with the founders of The Bower on September 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Bower Native Plant Landscape and Sculpture Park is a hidden gem nestled on a 36-acre residential property in the northern Appalachian Mountains.

Just a quick 30-minute drive from Harrisburg, this remarkable property offers visitors a blend of art and nature that transforms with the seasons.

Founded by visionary duo Bill and Jane Allis, The Bower has been inviting visitors to explore a world of native plant gardens, restored meadows, and carefully constructed wetland pools since its opening in 2021.

This abundant community of wild and introduced native plants create a subtle symphony with a thoughtfully curated collection of large-scale sculptures and land art.

Bill and Jane will share the story behind The Bower's conception, planning, design, installation, and ongoing management, providing insights into the processes, challenges, and collaborations with their invaluable consulting partners at Larry Weaner Landscape Associates.

This is a great opportunity for the landscape professional to gain insight into the process and relationship between consultant and client on large scale multi-year projects with complex goals.

Lunch will be provided by People’s Provisions.
