On February 25, the Friends of Allegheny Wilderness celebrated the 115th birthday of nationally recognized wilderness advocate Howard Zahniser from Tionesta, Forest County, by sharing a presentation by his son Edward Zahniser on the American Wilderness Imagination.
The presentation includes a history of the wilderness preservation movement in America, his father's good lifelong work for wilderness, and the lasting importance of the federal Wilderness Act.
If you have already studied American wilderness preservation to some degree, this 30-minute talk will provide the opportunity to brush-up on your knowledge, and maybe learn something new along the way.
If you are new to the wilderness preservation movement, it will serve as a very good introduction!
