Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Thursday announced ocal volunteers in Allegheny, Blair, McKean, Mifflin, Philadelphia counties were recognized for their outstanding efforts in beautifying and cleaning up their communities.
Each year, KPB provides an opportunity for its statewide affiliates to recognize the outstanding efforts of their volunteers.
Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful’s 2015 Affiliate Volunteers of the Year include:
-- Allegheny CleanWays: Richard Grace for his contributions to enhance the DumpBusters program;
-- Keep Blair County Beautiful - Frank Hibernik for raising awareness of affiliate events and for his invaluable assistance with all one day special collection events held in 2015;
-- PA CleanWays of McKean County: Jodi Tanner, McKean County Adult Probation, for providing assistance with volunteer recruitment for cleanup and special collection events since 2005;
-- PA CleanWays of Mifflin County: Earl Tabb for his participation in local cleanups and recycling events through the years, including providing in-kind resources and planning future events;
-- Keep Royal Gardens Beautiful, Philadelphia: Tracylea Byford and Project M.E.O.W. for finding homes for adoptable cats and establishing a TNR (trap, neuter, return) program in project areas.
“Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful believes that clean and beautiful communities are the bedrock for building stronger more vibrant communities and that by engaging volunteers, we extend the reach of our educational efforts and multiply the impact of our actions. I would like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our volunteers of the year and thank them for making their communities clean, beautiful and more vibrant,” stated Shannon Reiter, Keep PA Beautiful President.
