Updated: October EQB, CAC Meetings Canceled, Clean Power, Pipeline, Oil & Gas Meetings Still On

The Department of Environmental Protection Monday canceled the October 20 Environmental Quality Board meeting.  The next scheduled meeting of the Board is November 17.
DEP's Citizens Advisory Council has also canceled its October 20 meeting. The CAC has one more meeting scheduled in 2015 on November 17.
Last Thursday, Gov. Wolf imposed a hiring freeze on state agencies, along with new limits on travel-- in-state and out-of-state-- and continued a ban on purchasing items not critical to state agency operations.
Late Friday afternoon, DEP canceled the October 7 meeting of the Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee “due to the budget impasse.”
Clean Power Plan Listening Sessions
DEP put out an advisory Monday saying the October 5 listening session on EPA’s Clean Power Climate Plan in York will be held as planned.
Oil & Gas Committees/Pipeline Task Force
DEP said the Oil and Gas Technical (Marcellus Shale) Advisory Board meeting on October 27 and the Conventional Oil and Gas Advisory Committee meeting October 29 will, at this writing, go on as scheduled.
The Committees are due to continue their consideration of Chapter 78 and 78A drilling regulations.
The October 28 meeting on DEP’s Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force is also still on at this writing.
Other Upcoming Meetings
There is no word yet on other upcoming DEP meetings or workshops in October which might be affected by the new limits to incurring costs by the agency.
Among other meetings that could be affected include the Agricultural Advisory Board Oct. 21; Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board Oct. 22; and the Small Business Compliance Advisory Committee Oct. 28.
