The Department of Environmental Protection, along with the Eastern Pennsylvania Alliance for Clean Transportation, invites government, private and public fleet managers, municipalities, universities and interested parties to a natural gas vehicle, infrastructure and incentive workshop from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on April 29, in the Commonwealth Room of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, 2300 North Cameron St., Harrisburg.
Workshop attendees will learn from a panel of experts how natural gas is helping Pennsylvania move away from imported petroleum fuels to homegrown environmentally friendly alternatives.
DEP staff will provide information on the financial incentives available to help make the switch to compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG). Manufacturers will also be on hand to demonstrate alternative fuel vehicles and technologies.
There is a $25 fee for this workshop, which includes a networking lunch. Please register online by April 22.
The Act 13 Natural Gas Vehicles Program authorized DEP to develop and implement the Natural Gas Energy Development program, funded by impact fees paid by natural gas operators. The program distributes up to $20 million in grants over three years, to help pay for the incremental purchase and conversion costs of heavy-duty natural gas fleet vehicles.
