Susquehanna River Basin Commission Hearing July 30 On Water Withdrawal Requests, Including 2 Related To Shale Gas Development

The
Susquehanna River Basin Commission will hold a hearing July 30 on water withdrawal requests, including two related to shale gas development.  Comments are due August 10.  (formal notice)

These requests are intended to be considered at the September 16 Commission business meeting.

The hearing will be held at the SRBC Offices, 4423 North Front Street in Harrisburg starting at 5:00 p.m. or participants can join by telephone using toll free number (877) 304-9269 and then entering guest passcode 2619070 followed by #.

The shale gas water requests include--

-- EQT ARO, LLC (Loyalsock Creek), Hillsgrove Township, Sullivan County, PA. Application for surface water withdrawal of up to 1.700 mgd (peak day).

-- Expand Operating, LLC (Susquehanna River), Ulster Township, Bradford County, PA. Application for surface water withdrawal of up to 4.000 mgd (peak day).
