Rep. Greg Vitali Named Majority Chair Of House Environmental Committee; House Appoints Committee Members

On March 7, House Democrats named Rep. Greg Vitali (D-Delaware) Majority Chair of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee.

House Republicans earlier named Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron), an advocate for the conventional oil and gas industry, as the Minority Chair of the Committee.  Read more here.

Rep. Vitali has served for 28 years on the Environmental Resource and Energy Committee -- eight as Democratic Chairman.

His primary focus has been on climate and energy. He was the first Pennsylvania legislator to introduce climate change legislation and the first to introduce the idea of a severance tax on natural gas.
