Environmental Quality Board Proposes Delisting MAX Environmental Technologies Sludge Filter Cake As Hazardous Waste; 3 Virtual Hearings Set

The Environmental Quality Board is inviting comments on a proposed regulation change delisting sludge filter cake as a hazardous waste that is derived from liquid wastes managed by MAX Environmental Technologies at their Bulger waste facility in Washington County and the Yukon waste facility in Westmoreland County.  (

The regulation is a result of a rulemaking petition to the Board to make the change.

Hearings

The EQB has scheduled three virtual hearings on the proposal to be held at 6:00 p.m. on January 19, 20 and 26.

Persons wishing to present testimony at a hearing must contact Jennifer Swan for the Department and the Board, (717) 783-8727 or RA-EPEQB@pa.gov, by January 18, 2022, to reserve a time to present testimony.
