Call For Proposals: Lancaster-Lebanon Watershed Forum & Science Symposium Nov. 19 & 20

Partners conducting research, advancing science and working to improve local watersheds are invited to gather and share their work at the free two-day event located at Elizabethtown College.

This gathering seeks to foster collaboration among watershed scientists and practitioners working and interested in this high priority region for addressing impacts to watersheds.

The first day of the forum will focus on science and research, and the second, half day will focus on actions to enhance and support the watershed work of local watershed practitioners, volunteers, local governments and community organizations.

Call for proposals

Researchers, scientists and educators who are contributing to the scientific understanding of issues that can advance watershed restoration and protection are invited to submit proposals for the first day of the event.

Contributors may give 30-minute presentations or present a poster.

Proposals are open to any work that helps advance science relevant to watershed restoration and protection, with a particular interest in proposals where the research has occurred in Lancaster or Lebanon counties.

Particular areas of interest are:

-- Social, economic and human behavioral issues related to watershed restoration.

-- Linking monitoring data to restoration and protection efforts.

-- Innovations and technology to advance conservation practices in agricultural and urban landscapes.

-- Riparian restoration, including riparian buffers, streams, wetlands and flood plains.

-- Ecosystem services and co-benefits associated with conservation practices for clean water.

-- Watershed restoration in a changing climate.

Proposals should be submitted online by Oct. 4.

Registration for this event is free and can be completed at this link. The agenda will be finalized in the future and can be viewed at the event webpage.

This event is sponsored by Elizabethtown College, Lancaster Clean Water Partners, Lancaster County Conservation District, LandStudies, Inc., Lebanon County Conservation District, National Fish, and Wildlife Foundation, and Penn State Agriculture and Environment Center to present the forum.
