Pike Wayne Conservation Partnership Science On Tap - Aug. 19 - Biodiversity Jam

The
Pike Wayne Conservation Partnership will be hosting a series of Science on Tap programs throughout fall 2021. The first of the series, The Biodiversity Jam, will be on August 19 at 6:30 p.m., in the side room of Here and Now Brewing Company in Honesdale, Wayne County. 

Members of the partnership will present on exciting and interesting species, for a fast paced night of nature info! Carnivorous plants, insects that glow, frogs with see through skin; this world is full of species that are beyond imagination!

Join the Pike Wayne Conservation Partnership for a night of drinks and discussion about some of the craziest and coolest species we know! The members of the partnership will be giving several 5-10 minute presentations over the course of the event, each on a different species. 

The species are from anywhere in the world, plant, insects, birds, mammals, etc. it is all fair game tonight! You never know what you might learn at a Biodiversity Jam!

Come early to have some of Here & Now Brewing's fantastic food, and then make sure you have a drink to head into the Jam, because the only thing that could be better than biodiversity, is biodiversity with a beer!

The Pike Wayne Conservation Partnership is made up of the local conservation organizations. 

The partnership is made up of Delaware Highlands Conservancy, The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Keystone Clean Water Team, Lacawac Sanctuary, Lackawanna College, The Lackawaxen River Conservancy, Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District, National Park Service – Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, National Park Service- Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, The Nature Conservancy - PA, Northeast PA Audubon Society, Northern Tier Hardwood Association, Pennsylvania Environmental Council, Penn State Extension, Pike County Conservation District, Pike County Office of Community Planning, The Pinchot Institute for Conservation, Pocono Environmental Education Center, PPL Utilities, Promised Land State Park, SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support), US Forest Service at Grey Towers National Historic Site, and Wayne Conservation District.
