The PA Resources Council Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program – which serves residents living in municipalities no longer accepting glass in curbside recycling collection – will provide free recycling service to residents in these communities in Allegheny County during January--
-- January 16 - 21: Findlay Township Public Works Garage, 1058 Clinton Road in Clinton, hosted by Findlay Township; and
-- January 30 - February 4: Hampton Community Swimming Pool, 3101 McCully Road, Allison Park, hosted by Hampton Township and Rep. Lori Mizgorski.
“The bin visits various locations on a weekly basis from Saturday through Thursday, typically from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and provides residents with a safe method for recycling glass while eliminating the need to interact with other individuals or touch shared surfaces,” according to PRC Recycling Markets Program Manager Ashley DiGregorio.
In 2020, PRC’s glass recycling program enabled 15,000+ households in western Pennsylvania to drop off 540,000 pounds of bottles, jars and jugs for recycling.
Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars and jugs of all colors (no color sorting required). Containers should be empty and rinsed, with lids and labels still on. Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site.
PRC’s Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program is sponsored by Owens-Illinois, Inc. and CAP Glass.
