DEP Posted 76 Pages Of Permit-Related Notices In March 16 PA Bulletin

Highlights of the environmental and energy notices in the
March 16 PA Bulletin-- 

-- The Governor’s Office published notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin of an updated Regulatory Agenda providing an agency-by-agency list of regulations under development.  DEP publishes a Regulatory Agenda and a Technical Guidance Agenda to promote better public participation.  


-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin it has scheduled an April 17 hearing and extended comment period on the proposed Hazardous Sites Cleanup Act response plan for the Newberry Township PFAS ‘forever chemical’ contamination site in Newberry and Fairview Townships, York County.  (PA Bulletin, Page 1408Read more here.


-- PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices/Opportunities To Comment - March 16 [PaEN]


-- The Department of Environmental Protection published a notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin saying it issued a deficiency letter to the Shell Petrochemical Plant in Beaver County on February 6, 2024 which said a Final Report Shell submitted under the Act 2 Land Recycling Program "did not demonstrate attainment of the Statewide Health and Site-Specific cleanup standards.”  (PA Bulletin, page 1412)


-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin inviting comments on proposed changes to the General Air Quality Permit authorizing coal mine methane flares. Click Here for a copy of the proposed revisions.


-- Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin its Executive Director gave his approval to 30 water use general permits for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Clearfield, Lycoming, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wyoming counties.  Read more here.


-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin of 2024 land reclamation bond rates for anthracite and bituminous coal mine operations.  There has been no change in the rates.


-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin of 2024 land reclamation bond rates for noncoal mine operations.

-- The Game Commission published notice in the March 16 PA Bulletin that it has added the Black Rail to the state’s list of threatened birds due to its federally protected status and small, sporadic populations in the Commonwealth.
