The western portion of Pennsylvania is in the Ohio River Watershed. The Allegheny and Monongahela rivers form the beginning of the Ohio River in Pittsburgh.
The Conference is being hosted by the Ohio River Basin Alliance, in collaboration with the Ohio River Basin Consortium for Research and Education is an association of universities, colleges, governmental agencies, industries, and individuals focused on research, education and information exchange in water-related concerns and other environmental issues in the Ohio River Basin.
The theme of this year's Conference is-- "A confluence of collaboration in research, education and outreach; accelerating progress and sharing successes in the Ohio River Basin."
Last year ORBA announced the Plan for the Ohio River Basin at the Summit. This year ORBA will be reporting progress, describing next steps, and engaging you in this significant once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve the economic vitality, environmental health and quality of life for all those living throughout the Ohio River Basin.
Conference sessions, being organized with the help of Thomas More University, include discussions around:
