This workshop will introduce key concepts necessary for strategic trail planning and management of pedestrian trails and shared-use pathways in urban settings.
Urban trails that are fully conceptualized and well-planned, through dynamic community engagement, diverse partnerships and creative planning provide linear environmental opportunities for community sustainability.
A successful planning process begins with early development of shared ownership and management, project funding and phasing.
The Garfield Green Zone Trail project will serve as the core project sample for study; however, participants will be given the opportunity to begin addressing these concepts as related to their own community projects.
