Audubon Society Of Western PA Workshop Series With Free Trees, Native Plants For Buffalo Creek Watershed Residents


The
Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania is hosting two workshop series for residents of the Buffalo Creek Watershed in Armstrong, Butler, and Allegheny Counties.  

Buffalo Creek Forested Landowner Workshop Series

This free, online workshop series is designed to help forested landowners protect and enhance habitat on their property. 

Residents of Buffalo Creek will get one free tree per workshop – participate in all three for three free trees. 

This series is open to anyone, but only residents of Buffalo Creek qualify for free trees.

The workshops will be held--

-- April 13, 5:30 p.m. – Invasive Forest Insects: Updates on New and Established Pests in the Buffalo Creek Region

-- April 20, 5:30 p.m. – Importance of Forests for Water Resources | Private Landowner Assistance Program

-- April 27, 5:30 p.m. – Identifying and Controlling Common Invasive Plants

This workshop series has been generously funded by Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation’s Environmental Stewardship Fund and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. 

Special thanks to guest speakers from Penn State Extension and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Supporting Wildlife on Your Property

This free, online workshop series is designed to help landowners support wildlife. Residents of Buffalo Creek will get 2 free native plants per workshop – participate in all 3 for 6 free native plants. 

This series is open to anyone, but only residents of Buffalo Creek qualify for free native plants.

The workshops will be held--

-- May 11, 7:00 p.m. – Planting to Support Birds

-- May 18, 7:00 p.m. -- Gardening for Pollinators

-- May 25, 7:00 p.m. – Co-Existing with White Tailed Deer
