In August 2020, the Penn State Extension Water Team began providing live education using Facebook Live in an ongoing series entitled, “Water Currents."
These presentations provide additional depth and discussion related to select articles from the monthly Watershed Winds newsletters, while also providing viewers the opportunity to ask the author questions by commenting on the post.
Since August, there have been twelve episodes of Water Currents which have covered a variety of water topics from snapping turtles to stormwater to wise lawn management.
Water Currents will continue covering timely water topics again this year.
May 10 - Combined Sewer Overflows
The next episode, “Combined Sewer Overflows: What's Overflowing and What’s Being Done?" will take place on May 10, 2021 at Noon.
We'll dive into this priority water pollution concern and talk about water contaminants associated with overflows, ways communities are addressing overflows, and steps residents can take to reduce the load on combined sewer systems.
To participate in these live events and receive notifications of when new Water Currents are scheduled, like and follow the Penn State Extension Renewable Natural Resources Team Facebook page.
If you are interested in watching past sessions or are unable to attend future live events, recordings of each Water Currents stored as videos on our Facebook page can be accessed on demand.
