The PA Resources Council has scheduled two Traveling Glass Recycling Events in Allegheny County to service municipalities no longer accepting glass in curbside recycling collection.
The recycling events will be held--
-- September 12-17: Moon Township Public Works Facility, 1115 Stevenson Mill Road, Coraopolis from 7:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. and presented by Moon Township and sponsored by Moon Township Municipal Authority
-- September 28- October 1: Findlay Township Public Works Garage, 1058 Clinton Road, Clinton, PA during daylight hours and presented by Findlay Township.
“This pilot program expands PRC’s current glass recycling collection opportunities by providing residents with a safe method for recycling glass while eliminating the need to interact with other individuals or touch shared surfaces,” according to PRC Environmental Program Coordinator Ashley DiGregorio. “Self-serve glass drop off is available during daylight hours on a weekly basis from Saturday through Thursday, and bin sites are strictly monitored at all times.”
Individuals can drop off glass bottles, jars, and jugs of all colors (no color sorting required). Containers should be empty and rinsed, with lids and labels still on. Bags and boxes used to deliver glass must be discarded off-site.
PRC’s Traveling Glass Recycling Bin Program is sponsored by Owens-Illinois, Inc. and CAP Glass.
