On August 26, natural gas producer Range Resources released its 2020 Corporate Sustainability Report which establishes a target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2025.
“We have made significant progress toward our strategic sustainability goals over the past year. The dedication of our employees to environmental stewardship has driven substantial environmental and operational efficiencies, resulting in significant cost savings,” said Jeff Ventura, the Company’s CEO. “Given our vast energy resources, low breakeven costs and best-in-class environmental efforts, Range will continue to play a key role in safely supplying cleaner, abundant energy while providing value for all stakeholders through a sustainable approach to our work.”
Among the highlights in the report--
-- Reduced greenhouse gas footprint by 47 percent since 2017
-- Last year, recycled 147 percent of produced water (includes recycled produced water from other operators)
-- 42 percent of all of the water used is recycled water
-- In 2019, created or supported 14,200 jobs and contributed $1.71 billion in GDP ($678 million in Pennsylvania)
-- Provided $222 million in state and local tax revenues ($89 million in Pennsylvania)
-- Paid $26 million paid in impact fees for 2019, more than $206 million in impact fees since 2012
-- Paid more than $2 billion paid in royalty and lease payments
-- Contributed more than $442,000 to more than 350 nonprofit and civic organizations across our core operating footprint with more than 700 employee hours volunteered at company sponsored community events
-- Were recognized as a top workplace by the Observer-Reporter in 2019.
