On June 17, the Washington County Watershed Alliance announced it will be receiving a $100,000 donation from Range Resources as a result of a settlement of criminal charges by the Office Of Attorney General for waterways impacts in Washington County.
The funds will be used for projects within the watersheds that were impacted by the company, allowing for the direct improvement of the impacted waterways.
"It has become increasingly difficult to find funding for watershed projects over the years and these funds will help move projects forward in a timely manner," explained the Alliance.
"We've completed many projects around the county since our formation in 1998 and always welcome new volunteers and landowners who are interested in doing their part to improve Washington County’s water quality."
The Washington County Watershed Alliance is a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 to enhance and coordinate conservation efforts throughout the County and to support the activities of individual watershed associations.
