Legislators To Celebrate County Conservation Districts Week-- May 3-9-- With A Proposed Funding Freeze To Shut Them Down

Conservation District Week is May 3 to 9 and the House and Senate are likely to pass resolutions congratulating conservation districts in Pennsylvania for all their hard work!
          At the same time Republicans in the House passed legislation-- House Bill 1822-- that would shut down conservation districts by freezing their funding for the duration of the COVID-19 emergency.  Read more here.
          The bill is now in the Senate for consideration.
          Seems like a funny way to "celebrate" county Conservation District Week by cutting off their funding!
