Occurring across Pennsylvania, the October 6 Walk in Penn’s Woods is a day when organized woods walks in each county will help build appreciation for forests, the people who own them, and the importance of caring well for them.
Rural, urban and suburban woods, state and national forests, parks, and gamelands, municipal watersheds, conserved areas, and private and industry lands in the state’s 67 counties will hold guided walks in the woods showcasing the multiple values and diverse uses of our state’s woodland resources.
Sponsors of Walk In Penn’s Woods include the PA Forestry Association, Penn State Center for Private Forests, Penn State Forestry and Wildlife Extension, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, PA Forest Stewards, the PA Chapter of the Association of Consulting Foresters, and the PA Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
