House Environmental Committee Meets June 11 On Temporary Cessation Of Coal Refuse Disposal Site Operations

The House Environmental Resources and  Energy Committee is scheduled to meet June 11 to consider House Bill 1557 (Gabler-R-Clearfield) that eliminates the ability of coal refuse disposal site operators to temporarily cease operations for 1 year and still retain their permit.
The legislation would require DEP to adopt the same temporary cessation requirements as the federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement.
The meeting will be held in Room B-31 Main Capitol starting at 10:00 a.m.  Click Here to watch the meeting online.
