The PA Resources Council will host a Healthy Body & Healthy Home Workshop on July 13 in Castle Shannon, Allegheny County to encourage individuals to combat exposure to everyday chemicals and carcinogens in the environment and select and/or produce safer alternative products.
During the 90-minute session, participants will learn how to make their own cleaning and personal care products and then take home a green cleaning starter kit at the conclusion of the class.
“On a daily basis, we’re all exposed to a number of different chemicals, carcinogens and toxins in the environment, and we need to realize that in many instances we can definitely control our exposure to toxins,” said PRC Program Coordinator Sarah Alessio Shea. “It’s important to become aware of the ingredients and products we use on our bodies and in our homes since becoming an educated consumer allows us to make better choices and reduce exposure for ourselves and our family members.”
The workshop will will be held from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Community Library of Castle Shannon.
The cost for the workshop is $30 per person ($35 per couple) and includes a non-toxic cleaning kit.
Pre-registration is required for the “Healthy Body & Healthy Home” session. To register, visit PRC’s Healthy Body & Healthy Home Workshop webpage or call 412-488-7490 x236.
