3rd Annual Lehigh Valley Get Outdoors PA Festival July 22 In Allentown

Lehigh Valley Greenways Conservation Landscape Partners will hold the 3rd Annual Lehigh Valley Get Outdoors PA Festival on July 22 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at South Whitehall Township’s Covered Bridge Park at the Athletic Fields near 4060 River Road in Allentown.
The Get Outdoors PA Festival will be a family-friendly event with hands-on exhibits, education programs, trail information, and a full afternoon of activities.
Lehigh Valley Greenways partners will provide ongoing activities at their exhibit tents and other scheduled events will add special opportunities.
Interact with live animals during Wildlands Conservancy’s wildlife presentation. Get your hands wet with Lehigh County Conservation District learning about our waterways and what species call the streams their home (wear closed-toe shoes that can get wet for this one!).
Learn about new outdoor environmental education opportunities from partners throughout the Lehigh Valley.  Try out your archery skills with staff from Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center.
Take a guided walk to learn about the history of local covered bridges with Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. Pick up a list of which native plants you can add around your home to beautify the landscape while helping pollinators and other wildlife.
There is something for everyone!
New this year, the festival coincides with South Whitehall Township’s concert in the park series and there will be food trucks with tasty options to purchase snacks, dinner, or ice cream for a refreshing treat.
At 7:00 p.m., The Large Flowerheads will perform for a free concert of groovy music from the 60s! Bring your chairs and picnic blanket to enjoy the festival and concert.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources initiated the Lehigh Valley Greenways Conservation Landscape in 2004 to advance land conservation, outdoor recreation, trail connections, community revitalization and environmental education in the region.
The Lehigh Valley Greenways is a partnership consisting of over 20 public and private conservation organizations working together on projects enhancing the quality of life in your community.
