Radnor Township, Delaware County is organizing a unique Stream and Stormwater Photography Volunteer Project on March 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Radnor High School, 130 King of Prussia Road, Villanova, PA in Room 150.
It’s true that every picture tells a story.
All of Radnor’s streams are considered, by DEP, to fail to meet pollution protection standards. Radnor communities are being harmed by ongoing flood damages. Properties and parks are being washed away by erosion.
Your pictures can help tell the stories of Radnor’s waterways and get them the investment and protection they need.
The Township will also talk about Radnor's stormwater ordinance -- the changes that are needed and the actions the Township is failing to take, and what you can do about it.
Bring your smart-phone and your willingness to take a walk and learn how to take pictures that can help protect Radnor’s waterways and identify good projects for Radnor’s stormwater fee.
The Township will provide coffee, juice, bagels and fruit. At the workshop, you will learn:
-- How to identify a healthy stream and one that is in trouble, and to take pictures that will tell that story;
-- How to take better pictures with you cell phone camera to protect streams,
-- How to geo-tag, label & upload your photos to the Delaware Riverkeeper Network's web collection site,
-- Basic watershed issues & what to look for in the field,
-- Safety tips when walking around Radnor’s waterways and surrounding areas,
-- How to find, walk and document your assigned stream for the project,
-- How your pictures can be used to protect Radnor communities, streams and environment.
